The Hit

Norman, September 20, 1975 -
Oklahoma routed a fine Pittsburgh team 46-10 in Norman, the game made famous when strong safety Scott Hill made a flying tackle that leveled Pitt tailback Tony Dorsett. It is arguably the greatest hit in Oklahoma Football history.

That is one of the fan memories on the sooner season tickets this year. How awesome!

i was at that game. OU won the NC that year and destroyed the 1976 NC winner that day. dorsett quit like a yellow dog, 17 yards on 12 carries and never a factor. I talked to several of his teammates several years later about that game and they said dorsett had never been hit like that in his career. lost all respect for him after that game. Jimbo Elrod had an equally spectacular play the same game.

I was at this game 11 years old. I remember all the hype around Pitt going into this game and we kicked..their....ass. Jimbo Elrod dominated all day.
