I am coming into a new job behind someone else who bought one of these over two years ago and it is up to me to install it. I believe I have a non-inducing controller. What are the bad effects of having more than 4 feet of fluid over this pump in a sump? The IOM says that I would need a valve to throttle the suction, but that is not possible in my application.
The pump has a flow inducer that pulls a vacumm. This allows slurry type materials to pump faster as well. Do you have an interest in the pump? Where are you located?

Nice video, but how is the pump filling up to the level control line with just a few inches of water over the check valve?
