For a young girl living a "hard knock life" in a children's orphanage, things may seem pretty bad -- especially at Christmas. But feisty Annie (Alicia Morton) carries a song in her heart and hope in her locket -- the only thing she has from her parents. One day, fed up with the dastardly Miss Hannigan (Kathy Bates), Annie escapes the run-down orphanage determined to find her mom and dad. Her adventure takes her from the cold, mean streets of New York to the warm, comforting arms of bighearted billionaire Oliver Warbucks (Victor Garber) -- with plenty of mischief in between!

  • @MegaNFer81 We all know what the history of this country is. This version of Annie isn't *history*. It is idealistic escapism. Pure and simple.

  • @KBAFourthtime Duffy is African American, July is Asian American, and Tessie is the blonde.

  • I swear, Tessie never says 'Oh my goodness' in this film -__-

  • the girl who plays Pepper looks like a guy

  • the girl with the glasses is from the disney channel

  • .....and the blonde chick from glee

  • I like from 4:54 - 5:03

  • @RedSonja92 in 1930s... would this have been possible? Before 1960s and segregagion, a African American, Zadsian American in an orphanage with caucasions? And Grace... (Im not complaining... just realisticly)...

  • @LilliEvieMamma This isn't based on the 1982. In fact BOTH this movie and the 1982 movie were based on the broadway musical "Annie". This version follows the original broadway show much closer then the 1982 film did.

  • I freaking love Alan Cumming as Rooster in this....my goodness he gives me chills.

  • there are 2 reasons why I like the 1988 version of this better: 1. Tim curry as Rooster (which is the best reason) and 2. in the 1988 version Miss Hannigan doesn't want to hurt Annie, she even tries to stop Rooster when he tries to kill her, and she ends up repenting and shows up in the final scenes of the movie, which shows that she isn't as completly evil as Cathy Bates' character is.

  • @poisoncupcake74 I think you must have missed a part. Annie and Sandy find each other again near the end of Part 5.
