I skated there all the time and tried to dig it up with my bare hands. We raced motorcycles not too far away too. I thought they were going to reopen it. I miss the pyramid stacks and that overhanging wave in the corner. Ooh, ooh. Don't forget the Dragon Back and that crazy old guy on the sky hooks Dale Dobson.

Skated the original park, raced motocross at the track, and picked up a few "time slips" on the dragstrip. Now it's a clusterfuck of industrial buildings. A lot of history was made on that property.

I was a young grom when this park was built. It was Sparks Skateboard Park in Carlsbad, CA.I still have the required ID card that you had to buy. I think the park was open until 11 PM summer nights. My mom would have a whole crew of kids in the car and drive us from Oceanside.

Carlsbad was not the first skatepark the first skatepark was Skateboard City in Port Orange FL
