I think that Grant must have started sometime shortly before this episode. From what I both remember and from what I've read Grant came on when Phillip started on his winter break from Lincoln Prep (along with Rick -- here being played by the first adult Rick, Phil MacGregor -- Michael O'Leary wouldn't start as Rick until I think May 1983 -- the day that Krista Tesreau first started as Mindy).
