Sharing powerful, compelling lives of five courageous Haitian women activists, "Poto Mitan: Haitian Women, Pillars of the Global Economy" aims to inspire, educate, and challenge solidarity, global justice, and women's activists. Each woman's life history explains an aspect of Haiti's current crisis: health rural exodus, high cost of living, gender inequality and violence, offering a personal account of conditions poor women face. The women teach us that our struggles, though they seem particular, have a common thread. Being involved for justice: for women, for workers, or Haiti can't help but bring about our own liberation.

Now that IDB has forgiven Haiti of its debt together with the new mandate for education funding, there should definitely be more hope on the horizon.
