  • does any one know where to get Potassium Nitrate pls tell me i have 2 do a science project on this

  • I got it on eBay. It's used as plant fertiliser and shouldn't be too hard to find, or expensive.

    Good luck! :)

  • yo iight me and my friend are doing a science project in this i told him 2 get it and he got it in a garden store and its a food for plants something like that but he says its blue so what should i doo does it mather becouse it still says patassium nitrate help me plz

  • It is plant fertiliser. It could be because it's mixed with other stuff for the plants...

Try getting a little bit and burning it. Make sure you do it safely!

You could get a small container and make a really basic small smoke bomb and see how it turns out.

It might even burn with blue smoke, depends what the other ingredient is. :)

  • 60% KNO3 and 40% Powdered Sugar coffee Grinded together.

  • Yeah, perhaps some powdered milk in there too.

  • where i can finf baking soda

  • i make a smoke bomb but its burn alll the time , and no smoke , Y ?

  • how can i make colour smoke bomb ?

  • Also I went to all the home depots in my town and all they had was some Bondies stump remover which contains chlorine which you don't want. So I ordered a lb of it from eBay for around $10

  • It's actually not it's ammonium nitrate

NH4NO3 using a double replacement with another chemical(I forgot the name) that contains potassium you get KNO3 but you have to remove the other substance so it's not that easy

  • @gamerpr0s Go to your local home depot or lowes and it is under the name "stump remover" its dirt cheap and easy to find.

  • @CrownedChaos the powder is actually ammonium nitrate

  • you can buy potassium nitrate in drug stores as Saltpeter

  • That's right...... just stand there above the mixture stirring unexpectedly...
