  • the two things metal fans REALLY care about: fighting about sub-genres and fighting about triggers.

  • @mladimajstor -Exactly, plus on top of this. You'd be surprised how hard some of these guys actually do hit even though they are playing this fast. Saying triggers (or double strokes for that matter) is cheating is just a lame excuse for the guys who can't pull this shit off in the first place, WITH or WITHOUT triggers. On top of that, throw some triggers on your kicks for the first time and find out how tight your playing really is. Cause you and the crowd will hear EVERYTHING.

  • triggers are for pussies. Period.

  • @rekleoa Well, it just feels little bit like cheating, I don't really seriously think so. What you said makes sense and I understand that he maybe had to use double strokes. But it's not the traditional way and when people talk about double bass it's basically always single strokes. I personally wouldn't even go that far that I had to use double strokes.

  • @Villex93 Cheating? I didn't know there were "rules". Can you enlighten me, what are those rules? Use the tools and techniques at your disposal to achieve a good sound. Using doublestrokes means he could play even faster. He said himself that he kinda had to start using doublestrokes only to keep up with the guitarists' insane speeds and could'nt care less that people call it cheating cause he didn't start playing metal to follow rules.

  • Double strokes are really hard but I still think its cheating.

  • @Caminacels funny thing is, they're usually all wrong

  • Saying double strokes on the kicks is cheating shows a complete lack of understanding. You go do it! Show us how EASY and how much of a cheater way of playing double bass it is! Fools.

If you think economy of motion is cheating, you must not be a drummer or know NOTHING about drumming!

  • what's the name of the song at the begining??

  • wow, actually made a huge noticeable mistake during the solo..

  • @Grindtechnician Thats fucking right! If you play base trigger first time you will find out how hard it is to play tight with triggers.

In my opinion triggers doesn't make you better only a better sound!

    Cheers

  • When John started doing doubles he sounds like a different drummer. Less comfortable, I guess he still getting used to it. I thought his heels down style was awesome, and I have to admit, I miss seeing him play heels down.
