  • @peanuts2105 no, they dont have to do this. this is going the easy and mediocre way. if brits would get off their arses and really put thought into this they could defeat toyota by far. they could improve the actual Defender, toyota did it with their Land Cruiser. They are just a pile of wussys. probably they believe men who have tea time in the day shouldnt make strong cars. extremely proper bastards

  • @eleventhcommandment then he should be castrated by the queen herself!

  • I agree with cars like the G class mercedes continuing its historical, original shape, because it is and always was gorgeous. But the Defender?? Why maintain that horrible and ugly old shape?? This is the way to go!

  • I struggle to see how its going to replace the defender we all know and love. It seems almost criminal to stop making it but i must admit ........I WANT ONE!!!!!

  • As owners of Land Rovers, (and mainly Defenders), for more years than we will own up to, we have to agree with some of the other comments.

    1) This is NOT a Defender

    2) What are farmers going to use?

    3) Would you take this car serious off roading?

    And finally.............

    4) What a heap of shit!

    R.I.P Defender (but not ours!)

  • however the Silver road version has massive wheels, putting a full size spare on the back of a small car like that looks absurd, and would block visibility far too much -- a common issue with the current LandRovers is terrific fwd vision but dreadful rear vision, more so if you have a full complement of passengers/cargo. full-time reverse view cameras with a split mirror display should be standard on them all for basic safety.

  • IMO they look stunning -- I'd buy it, esp. the Yella beach buggy, this would be a real winner if it was priced and featured keenly enough. it would be terrific to see an on-road/off-road test against Toyota's FJ Cruiser, the market it is clearly aimed at.

  • WHY?!
