The fat people in the buildings began to melt, there was so much lard in the buildings that it was an accident waiting to happen! The remaining undamaged structure should have posed far too much resistance to maintain a downward fall. In other words, the bottom halves of the towers should have deflected enough of the falling matter and should have still been relatively intact.
