Connell Cruise ~ "Psalm 63"

9th of July 2010 - I was watching Kirk Franklin perform at an event once and I'll never forget what he said during the set; he said that sometimes -when you're singing one of those meaningful and powerful songs- sometimes, you just need to get your 'ugly face' on to really get into the music :)

So here it is; my first, real 'ugly face' song! Song no. 3 at Matthias' studio! There's a really great story behind this one- Matthew and I were just chilling at the piano one lazy afternoon and I started playing around with a simple four-chord progression over and over again (it was that kind of lazy afternoon). Suddenly Malcolm sent Matt and sms (funny how many friends of mine have names starting with 'm' huh?) telling him to check out Psalm 63. So off he went to grab a Bible and there I went with my four chords... An hour later we were singing Psalm 63 to the Lord!
