people: I know it's cute. I know they're wonderful creatures. But the fact of the matter is, most people lack the capacity to care for something like this properly. They get big. You can't stuff them in a 4 foot tank. For it not to be cruel, if you have any sort of enclosure, it would have to be BIG. Rule of thumb - the enclosure should be at least a couple times the length and twice the width of the animal, at the LEAST. Males can reach nearly 5 feet-meaning a 10+ foot space. And heaters, food.

someone told me Tegu's are usually quite vicious and aggressive, but i saw a rescued one in a pet shop today and it was sooooo cudddley and sweet really well natured. Im thinking about getting it, it was so badly treated by its last owners as well, they let it's enclosure get so dry that it's toungue dried up and fell out and some of its toes too :/

Wow, i love reptiles but they all seem like backstabbers and bite. for the most part lizards do not like to be hold and touched so much like this. I've read about these Argentine Tegus and so far i hear there the friendliest large lizards. are they all this sociable and friendly when properly raised?

sleeps in bed with u? and dosnt get caught in anything? I have a snake, that wuld be a no no. lol. She would be stuck in the bed frame when I woke up if im lucky! lol

@Armoredlamb haha well she has a few times, I kick her out when she tries to now :P considering I've had her a few years now. She has her own little "roaming area" now but before she WOULD climb up on the bed, was cute.
