This is the Outside Aviary we made for our little Button Quails. They are the Parents of our Babies. We decided on an Asian theme. There are a couple of elevated platforms that are accessible via wire ramps. Hopefully in the future we may incorporate other levels rather than just platforms. The Aviary is 12 feet wide, 3 feet deep, and 4 feet high. It is rather unfortable to manuevre inside for an adult, but entry only needs to be done only every week to remove eggs. Large doors on the side & above make feeding accessible without complete entry.

  • Do quails eat bread as well? Like pigeons?

  • @Fire4FX

They'll eat it, but don't make it their main source of nutrition. Bread is empty in nutrition. Even pigeons must be given other food other than bread.

  • THEY ARE LIVING LIKE, THE LAP OF LUXERY! omg this is sooo what i'm doing when i'm older. i absolutely adore birds :)

  • @HubbaBubba776

Yes they are very fortunate little Buttons and one yeard later they are still with me. As you I am a bird lover. Check out my Duckie videos, the are entertaining.

  • What a beautiful aviary!!!! I have an outside aviary that has quials and finches, but it is looking dreadful at the moment.

I'd love it if you could send more videos of your aviary!!

Was it expensive? And what plants do you have in there?

Sorry about all the questions, it's just i love it so much!!

Amazing what some landscaping can do to liven up an area. The construction materials were a couple of hundred dollars. The plants had to be researched (some can be poisonous). They eventually ate most of plant material. I had to relocate the aviary but made it several levels. Check the other videos so you can see. I know longer had soil, so unfortunately could not incorporate plants.

  • how do you sex the grey ones?? pls

  • nice music, whats the title? wo hen xi huan le!

  • I think those are Asian blue quail or Chinese painted quail. They are often sold as buttonquail, but they aren't in the same genus as the buttonquail species. These are actual true quail in the genus Coturnix.

Buttonquail are in the genus Turnix, and they aren't even in the same order as the Coturnix quail. They are more closely related to shorebirds like plovers.
