Emmanuel Congregational Church Fire Massena New York

On May 10, 2007 lightning struck the emmanuel congregational church in massena. the church suffered extensive damage -- but all four walls and the tower are still standing. Local firefighters battled the blaze and managed to put it out. The church has the oldest religious congregation in massena since 1816. Two other churches have stood. The first congregational church and the second congregational church. The church was insured and will eventually be restored. This was one of the biggest fires in recent massena history. Channel seven news out of watertown reported that this church was the oldest standing church in massena. I called and told them they were not correct! Channel five news out of plattsburgh new york was also at the fire. The pretty looking news journalist from the television station interviewed me and I was on the news. Wish I could thank her for that. I also filmed the fire on my digital camera -- but due to my computer refusing to let me load my jvc video program cd I can't post the fire from moving film. this is good for now. oh well.. video dedicated to the strong members of the church.

i've heard some things. some say lightning. others electric problem. but what i hear most is something about gays or w/e wiht the church and people set it on fire. idk i'm athiest and i don't care. i just say let people live the way they want and if u hate them for there way of living then your life is pretty damn sad.

They are rebuilding the church so yes they can use it again, And being a firefighter that was on scene the damaged that had happened to the church could not have been changed.
