  • I stick with the KJV because they leave stuff out of the other versions and put stuff in. Take the mark of the beast. The king james says in the hand or forehead. the other ones say on the hand or head like it would be a tattoo or something.

  • great point they really do try to muddy the waters in so many areas.

  • The anti-KJB 'scholars' won't change the same reason evolutionists will never change, they love the lie.

  • amen brother

this guy keeps sending me messages after i have told him to stop. he claims the other texts that produce the niv are the best, even though the niv tries to cast doubt on the divinity of Christ, the virgin birth, the trinity and the resurrection

  • Tell him if he wants to have a discussion on the two different texts, he can send me the messages.

Those Alexanderian texts are gnostic. For ex. in Lk.23:42,(NIV) the word 'Lord' is removed from the thief's confession of faith, allowing one to believe in Docetism, the view that the Christ 'spirit' indwelt Jesus.

  • you might regret saying that brother LOL

ive given up on him to be honest. ive tried repeatedly, sent him links to websites, quoted the bible, sent him quotes by Westcott and Hort, its like talking to a brick wall.

but thanks for the support brother

its obvious from your quote that you have studied this area in depth and understand how subtle the corruption is and what they are trying to accomplish with it

    stay strong in the Word

  • But the modern translations show their lack of fidelity to the Bible when they willfully and purposely use manuscripts which have been rightly scrutinized as to their own reliability.

The point that is being missed, especially by those that see this, and ascribe to the KJV as being more reliable is this: Why hasn't anyone with the money and ability created a modern English translation of the Bible based on the same Majority Text/TR?

  • What amazes me is the point that is being missed by both sides of this debate. The KJV rightly argues for relying on the use of the Majority Text or Textus Receptus for the basis of any reputable translation. The modern translators are partly correct in recognizing the need for a more up-to-date English translation-which was the spirit behind the KJV translation to begin with-to have it available to the common person in his native tongue.

  • Though the KJV is anything but perfect in its translation of the TR, it is still by far the most reliable translation to date. The only other Bible that I believe comes close as far as showing forth a faithful rendering would be an older translation-namely the Geneva Bible.

  • @RaptureMe2 i realize you wrote this question over a year ago, and sorry to see that none had responded to you. Matt & Mark do indeed record only that both the thieves only insulted him, whereas Luke indicates a different-even repentant thief. When compared with one another what is shown is a thief who found repentance while hanging on the cross, just moments after casting insults at the Lord himself.

  • Your bible is full of crazy shit!

  • I am not a protestant

"Where do you get the AUTHORITY that your Canon/text (word for word) is inspired? "

    from God

in 2 Timothy 3:16 "inspiration" comes from the Greek words "theopneustos" which roughly means "God breathed"

Psa 12:6 The words of the LORD [are] pure words: [as] silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

all scripture is from God and he has promised to preserve them.

  • Can you name a few and where the had there shcooling??

  • You look at the bible logically, from every angle posible, it doesn`t make sense.
