CA Higher Education Sustainability Conference
Keynote Plenary Session
Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010
8:30am-10:00am
at Glory Church in Downtown Los Angeles
Transforming our educational institutions to be living
laboratories which model sustainability requires
support from the top and from the grassroots. This
session provides perspectives from administrators and
students. Executives from LACCD, CSU Sacramento
and the UC Los Angeles campus will address the
leadership they are providing in sustainability research,
education, and practice. Student leaders from a
community college, a Cal State university, and a UC
campus will inspire us with stories of students making
change happen on their campuses.

Keynote Plenary Speech
Intern, Green Campus Program,
Humboldt State University
I recently graduated with Honors and as the
Outstanding Environmental Science Student of the
Year from Humboldt State University. Because I
understand that community involvement is crucial for
sustainability, I have dedicated much of my energy
toward building collaborative relationships with a
diversity of campus entities. Over the past four years I
have been working with administrative and academic
departments on numerous energy efficiency and water
projects, many of which have resulted in state-level
recognition.
