My 1st full 30rnd 5.56 magazine dump. I failed to mention the installation of an RRA trigger kit along with the new stock. I believe the lighter trigger kit results in a greater rate of fire. 30 rounds in 2.16s calculates to 833 rpm.

*Note: This firearm is NOT fully-automatic. It is still a semi-automatic firearm. The technique I am using for rapid fire is called "bumpfiring". The installation of the slide fire stock makes the bumpfire action much easier , safer, and accurate. Yes, the stock is fully legal in the US.

  • Great vid! I have a nearly identical setup and I just ordered a Timney 3lb trigger. What trigger group are you running? What weight? Have you ever had any light primer strikes or any other problems?

  • @tennissanta RRA stage 2 trigger kit. 3.25lbs. Haven't had one single misfire with it installed and I've run several different brands of ammo through the rifle.

  • @brett256north Hey what kind of ammo are you running? 5.56 or .223? Brand? I had mine out this weekend with Federal 5.56 and I was getting light primer strikes every 4 or 5 bursts. Very annoying.

  • @tennissanta I run both .223 and 5.56 depending on what's in stock and cheap at my local gun store. I've ran a bunch of different rounds in the Federal line-up. Also Remington, PMC, and Wolf. I usually stick with Fed. American Eagle tactical XM in 5.56 because it's usually cheap and on sale....

I have had only 1 light primer strike out of thousands of rounds shot. It was a Wolf round with a steel case.

  • @brett256north Thanks. I just saw that your RRA FCG is a two stage trigger. I wonder if that's where I'm getting hung up. My Timney is a single stage trigger. The guys at Slide Fire said they didn't have luck with aftermarket single stage triggers. I just ordered the two stage mil-spec trigger group from Slide Fire, so we'll see if that takes care of the problem. Mine is a Sport while yours is the Magpul edition (nice!), so I might try to rule out any other differences between the two as well.

  • @tennissanta Cool I hope the 2 stage solves your problem!

  • @maxxsmoke First of all I would rather have a firm hold on the handgrip and have the buttstock firmly planted against my shoulder like I do with the slidefire. Have fun trying that with the rubberband! Second, I can fire short, controlled, ACCURATE bursts with the slidefire. Third, if you are a true master you don't need a rubberband or slidefire, you can bumpfire without so your point is void. $360 to make the process of bumpfiring easier and much more accurate? Money well spent!
