  • no funny car??

awesome section of what's really going wrong movie - shea lopez.

  • way to not even play "the bottle" .. god i love that song. good set though except for the encore.

  • Smoking set on a great night all around. So glad I was able to see them again!

  • Man, they were a bit rusy, which is entirely understandable, up until Seconol where things got brilliant. Thanks for this video!

  • Awesome. These guys were and still are one of my favorite bands. It's almost criminal that their albums have fallen further into obscurity as the years go by. They managed to pull off rocking the fuck out without any scrap of the pretension that usually accompanies indie rock/post-punk, whatever.

  • I miss this band and I really miss listening to new music from Tom Barnes....I'm getting old.

  • ... he was noticeably nervous before the set. pacing. smoking. his drumming sounded right on! they were darn tight which really impressed me.

i think tom is married, in LA, so we'll probably never see another live performance. damon is playing in an sf Pretenders cover band with one of the girls from sf's Van Gogh's Daughter.

  • i sort of knew dave, the drummer. an acquaintance really. i hadn't seen him in years till the night of this show. he was (is?) part owner of a video rental store on valencia in sf. before their set on this night, i asked him how this show came about. he said they got a call to do a special 2 song set. they agreed. after agreeing, some point later, they found out they were playing for 30 mins. he said he hadn't touched a drum kit in MANY years till they rehearsed TWICE for this set. • What are these guys up to now?

SNOWMAN is on of the greatest US Alternative LPs ever. And it would appear that the singer looked like my Grandad, but younger.

    INCREDIBLY UNDERATED.

  • berkeley square, 90-something....i don't know if their first album was even out yet....the fact that the square was still open dates it i suppose.

i remember all of the usual suspects from the berkeley scene were there, the type that usually stand motionless at shows with arms folded. there were a lot of jaws hanging down on chests. and then the pogoing began.
