a six second clip of toronto police officers beating a homeless addict into oblivion. i witnessed the brutal attack from beginning to end - unfortunately my phone only records 6 second clips. notice the cop on the left driving the man's face into the ground with his knee. a clear example of excessive force.

Since you know so much about police procedure, I'm going to ask you a question. If you were a police officer and an individual on drugs was resisting arrest, how would you handle the situation? Remember, he is resisting arrest. Politely asking him to put his hands behind his back won't work.

From what I see, they are still fighting to gain control of his hands. It doesn't matter if the officers are on top of him, he obviously wasn't detained yet. Now, if he were in handcuffs and they were beating him, that would be a different story. Look, it's obvious that you don't understand much when it comes to these types of situations, so I just suggest that you stop arguing.

The officers are attempting to grab his hands. It can be extremely difficult to gain control of someones hands when they are resisting. Hitting him with a baton uses pain compliance. They will keep hitting him until he stops resisting. If you don't want to get hurt, don't resist. The problem with the video is that it is only 6 seconds long. And like every other brutality video, it doesn't show the beginning. I wonder why that is?

So you think there is only one way to stab someone from that position? If he is on drugs, he most likely doesn't feel much pain, and he can be very strong. He could easily shift position and there you go, he is in position to stab one of the officers. Your inability to think of the possibilities in the situation is why you are wrong. Also, it is a crappy 6 second video. You can't make any conclusions from this. What if the guy had a knife while they were fighting him? We don't know.
