Here is a video clip of Art Robinson responding to a question about public schools. Art Robinson says in this clip, "I think the public schools should be abolished."
If goverment controls a nation's education they control the youth's minds and our goverment has poisoned our young's minds. Made them dumb. All they teach is political correctness and white guilt. They show "ROOTS" and do MLK worship and then go home.
I'm from Canada, and I am likewise opposed to government-run schools. What business does the government have educating our children? Upon some study and inquiry of the history of North American public education is the finding that certain agencies and interest groups within NA have over the past 150+ years have slowly and subtly engineered a particular means of molding and conforming the populace to be slaves of the state, bound in obedience to the economy and dependent upon the government.
@whoo689 Survival of the fittest. This is history. Save the weak only to be burdened by them. Why do you care if schools are closed? It's just a daycare for stupid people that can't afford a real education. 20 percent of high school seniors can be classified as being functionally illiterate at the time they graduate. WOW 20%SO you think we should just keep pumping out retards while china prepares for world domination? YA buddy your part of the problem, socialist.
@whoo689. Now obviously you are a supporter of the underachiever. Sure his statements are shocking, but if you do some research and really delve into what he is saying you might have a not so agrivated view on the situation. Basically he is saying public school kids test lower than privately schooled ones. This is a fact, not just an opinion. SO, he is saying that if you privatize the industry (as medicine is) then you will have a better service than the public (have to) system.
"Art Robinson has an undergraduate degree in chemistry from Caltech and a doctorate from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). He was appointed to the UCSD faculty immediately after getting his Ph.D"
...Really? He got his doctorate at a PUBLIC university and then got a short teaching gig there? This must've been BEFORE he became anti-public schooling, right? Of course, why he would deny that opportunity to others that HE got is beyond me. Or is he just against K-12 public schools?
@whoo689 If Art Robinson DOESN'T believe in vouchers (I have no idea how strict he is on spending or constitutional issues exactly) and also supports abolishing public schools, he is REALLY fucked up in the head. I wonder if Art NEVER once attended a public school himself? That would be an interesting expose. So many other teabag candidates have been exposed as hypocrites. I wouldn't be surprised if he himself took advantage of free schooling but wants to now deny it to others.
@whoo689 Saying "Oh, because the public schools teach in a way that I disagree with or 'mentally handicap' kids, I'm gonna abolish that opportunity for so many millions of low-income kids" is a very elitist position. Who are YOU to tell public schoolchildren whose parents can't afford private schools they CAN'T have that opportunity to get low-cost or free education?
@whoo689 Art Robinson's America would be very stratified. Public education IS needed, esp. for families with non-religious or non-Christian or non-Jewish parents who DON'T want their kids brought up to be taught that stuff. Don't THOSE parents also have a right to send their kids to schools that teach them what they believe? If you can send YOUR kid to a Christian or Jewish school...
@whoo689 The amount of Christian private schools compared to nonsectarian ones where teaching is more secular and education-driven is probably a 3 or 4:1 ratio. If the parent is Muslim, Jewish, atheist, etc. and doesn't want his kid brainwashed, where does he go?? What if he lives in an area with only a limited number of private schools, and just about all of them are Christian?

Agreed, get government out of education. They have no business being there in any free country.
