[ Saturday December 18th 2004 ]

Saturday was a quiet day at Maggie's. Being exactly a week left before Christmas the residents of Brookfield, New Hampshire were out in town doing their Christmas shopping and others were putting up the Christmas décor on their houses.



Soft Christmas music played on the jukebox in the background and there was the occasional clanking of dishes coming from the kitchen as Selena and Leighton were refilling the condiments in the backroom. "So how was your date yesterday?" Leighton asked grinning from ear to ear.



A smiled painted across Selena's face as she thought about yesterday's events. "It was actually good. I had a fun time," she admitted not realizing that she was now blushing at the thought of Nick.



"I knew he would be different" Leighton squealed in delight. "So what did you do, where did?" she fired questions at her.



Selena put down the ketchup bottle she was refilling. "Well we went to his apartment and we had coffee and we just talked. Then in the evening he ordered pizza and we ended up watching America's funniest home movies" she smiled and shrugged her shoulders.



Leighton again squealed in delight as she hugged Selena. "Tell me more about him" she urged in a lively voice.



"He has knack for photography. His apartment is flied with tons of pictures and portraits of the places he's been too, it felt like a museum," she explained. "We talked about families and he actually listened to everything I said. He's sweet, compassionate, kind"



"Selena, my friend, you've been bitten by the love bug." She informed casually as if she were an actual doctor.



A gasp escaped her lips as she playfully punched Leighton's arm, "I am not in love with him. It was just one date," she explained.



"I find that very hard to believe," she said before going over to the kitchen to collect her order.



'I can't be in love with him' Selena thought to herself, 'can I?'
