This is a gameplay of an Snes version of Thunder Force III from the Genesis. I did my best on trying to conquer the game without dying. Sorry that I can't show y'all the whole game on one video but I managed to divide the game into sections of stages.

  • it had no auto fire though, right? no idea why

  • @matthewdoucette By default it didn't, but there's an option to change the setting by bringing up a secret option screen. It's been a long time I played this game, I think to bring up the option is hold L, R, Select, then press Start. Correct me if I'm wrong anybody please.

  • @matthewdoucette My bad, it should be hold Select, then press Start.

  • @IbukiSF3 oh there's a secret screen for that. i'm only running off memory too but i'm pretty sure it's not in the default options. correct me if i'm wrong too please.

  • @matthewdoucette My bad yes there was an auto-fire option but by default it was off; therefore, had to shoot manually by tapping the button.

  • the music of the md version it's better for sure...

  • I agree.

  • Yeah, the FM sounds of the YM2612 chip were better suited for this than the Q-Sound-esque stylings of the SPC700.

I'd quickly blame the arranger though, rather than the hardware. They had different instruction sets is all.

  • Ah man. It makes my ears want to bleed. The Megadrive version was better in every way!

  • It's pretty obvious that it's stuttering and slowing down everytime he shoots. Look at the speed at which it scrolls and compare it to the Genesis version. The SNES version by comparison is laughable with how much it stutters and slows down.

  • HOWDYDOODLY: You friend is a retarded games, talk to the SUPERNES and sucks compared to the mega drive version you are more than one retarded, because you must be deaf, blind, because it can only be angry at nintendo, another thing, who likes to throw a classic Nintendo 8 bit if there were, THUNDER FORCE to me, all are wonderful!

  • You stupid retards haven't even watched the fucking video, or let alone played the game yourself.

    There is no slowdowns!

  • The graphics are a bit more detailed than in the Genesis version!!

But the sound's taken quite a hit.

And the speed isn't quite as chaotic...
