In MIDI mode, the DN-X1700 has sound cuts that does not happen with other MIDI devices such as DN-HS 5500 Those cuts seem to happen in a randomly fashion. In this video, you can experience two cuts (one at 0:17 and the second at 2:11. They only happen in MIDI mode. The computer used here is a mac (CoreDuo 2, 4 Go of RAM) was freshly formated and fed with OS X 10.6.1. There were no other devices connected i.e. USB devices (hub, hdd). The sound is coming from iTunes and is the only software running during the test.
After careful test, I think it is a bug because there is no logic element to explain this. Also I tested the mixer in MIDI on 2 other mac and got the same result. I do not have a PC to test.
As many have said, your redlining your VUs,your Gains too hight, them red LEDs look close to exploding! Lol Also as said could be a firmware error

@temanyada You can enter to the denon dj forums and see that nobody complains for issues now, later enter to pioneer dj forums and see by yourself how many problems have, pioneer was great in the era of cdj1000mk3 but now are very unreliable

denons products have cool features but they arent worth much when the feautures never work properly. Almost all their products have had firmware issues over the past 5 years plus. If they stepped it up a bit theyd be up there with pioneer

That problem was only evident on the original firmware on the mixer - all fixed about a year ago. You just need to load the free firmware upgrade into the mixer with a thumbdrive and then 2 minutes later, you wont have that problem any more.

@DJSEvEN72 my ns7 was the same case . All new gear got some issues maybe if we all didn't rush on and be the first to have the damn thing then maybe shit like this would not happen . What ever sometimes its not the gear but the operator! Pioneer this and that what ever they where always overpriced good gear but overpriced back in 2003 they came out with mk2 and denon was incorporating mp3 in their gear @500-600 bucks a pop and pios did sqat they released mk3 right after @1500 a pop thats bull sh

Your level should never surpass 0db max +1 db thus having more head room for u to play with before distorting sound that ends up blowing up tweeters then woofers . If that don't work out check serato settings on buffer size try setting it up @ 5 i got a mac dual core and a quad core and serato still lags on me i find it works best @ 5 buffer size and max screen refresh rate and also if u don't use any plug ins in serato that helps 2.

cmon... don't run ANY mixer with levels in the red, first of all it sounds like shit, second it might cut out. post a video with levels that are green and orange then see if you have this issue.
