planetside has only 8 video uploaded ? where are the tutorials and trainings? by the way is there an option to save the heighfield maps in 16bit in .tiff to be used on terrains from different 3d applications ? World Machine 2 has such an option and looks much easier to use and learn.

Tutorial/training videos are something we'd like to create for the future, but none are yet available.

You can save terrains as TER (16 bit, compatible with World Machine and many other programs) or EXR (32 bit, plugin available for Photoshop, supported by many other apps).

looks pretty convincing - apart from the lack of motion in the trees?? any chance that will change in a future update - I have the software - it not the easiest thing to use but its probably the most realistic

We have basic support for object sequence animation in current versions, it's just laborious to animate large numbers of objects. Future interoperability features, building on the new FBX capability in Terragen 2.5, should help with this.

There are some clever tricks to get motion on imported geometry using displacement. You can also use an imported object sequence. We'll be showing an example of the latter in an upcoming video. Additional support for animated models will probably be added in the future.

We appreciate the interest, but this kind of video work is really just promotional for our software. If you're interested in something similar, I suggest you make a project post on our community forums (link is easily found on our website), or contact the scene designer Ulco Glimmerveen directly (website in summary).

thank you for your kind and fast reply.i'm not familiar with TER and EXR maybe im not old enough in the 3d art,i thought exr format is only for hdri images or something like that.anyways if these formats are accepted by many applications then it is a good thing, a versatile/friendly apps is always loved and used by many people. To bad Bryce's terrain editor doesn't accept ter and exr as heighfield maps for terrains at first look but photoshop might help to convert it in targa or tiff.ty
