Sorry it's been a while. Understatement of the year, huh? Well I am trying again. Might take a while for anyone to even realize I'm here, but I feel it'll be worthwhile in the end. So I deleted the other part 8 I had, because I just didn't like that one and I felt I could do so much better because I had another idea for it. So hope you enjoy! Comment, please.

After eating breakfast, I began to cry. The whole weight of the situation came tumbling down on me. My best friend for 14 years betrayed me, and my first serious boyfriend broke my heart. What do I have now? What kind of girl is able to go on without a best friend? Miley was my best friend since diapers and we made pacts together and became blood sisters when we were 12. Why would she do this to me? How could she think in her mind it was right to treat me, as if she didn't know me, as if she didn't care?
David doesn't matter. Relationships like that end eventually. No one stays together with their high school boyfriend. Friendships are different. Miley's supposed to be the one that helps me when I'm down, who restores my broken heart with ice cream, romantic comedies and vacations. Once you're without a friend, who do you have to turn to? Certainly not my parents. My dad hates me and my mom, and my mom is a depressed psychotic who stays in her room all day. How could people like that be my silver lining?
I thought of Nick and how he said he loved me. Nick cares, clearly. He makes it so obvious. He could be my best friend and my boyfriend. And there is no way he could cheat on me with himself.
But a girl needs more than one person in her life that creates a stable relationship.
Not knowing what to do, I left for Nick's house. I hope he could straighten out my thoughts with his wise words. After arriving to Nick's house, I saw that his car was gone, but thought that he might still be home. I rang the doorbell, because I still was not 100% familiar with his home to just waltz right in as if I owned the place.
His sister, Demi, opened the door and greeted me with a huge smile. "Hey, you're Selena! It's nice to see you again." She reached for my hand and pulled me inside. "I was wondering if I was ever going to see the girl my brother is in love with again."
Demi was usually gone when I was here, so I never got to talk to her before.
"Well, here I am." I smiled, but it must have been clear what I really came here for was Nick because she said, "Nick's in town. He'll be home in about a hour. That gives us plenty of time to talk!" She grabbed my hand again and pulled me to the couch, where we both sat down.
She was different from Nick, but there was a certain familiarity in her eyes when she talked. "I was just scrap booking, do you want to help?" she said.
"You scrapbook?" I asked.
"Yeah, I realize it's pretty lame, but I love looking at old photos of me and my family and I think it's a really fun idea to put them in a 'book of memories' of sorts, instead of shoving them in the back of a closet in a shoe box. And also, my older sister, who started it, never finished it before she died, and I'd love to finish it for her."
Wow, what a matter to unload to a person you just met. I can't believe she just told me that.
"Nick's never told me that..." I said, quietly, half to myself.
"Yeah, well, Nick's not one to unload big information like that," she said with questionableness, like she didn't quite believe what she was saying.
I shrugged it off when she handed me a pile of pictures and some cutouts of seashells and lifesavers. "Separate the pictures of the ones from the beach and the ones at the boulevard. That was our vacation to Myrtle Beach in 2007."
I skimmed through the photos. There were some pictures of Nick, some pictures of Demi, some pictures of their parents, and some pictures of a nameless girl, who I presumed to be their sister. "Was this her?" I asked.
Demi leaned over. "Yeah," she said quietly. "Nicole."
About 45 minutes later, Nick walked through the door exclaiming, "Lucy! I'm home!"
Demi and I laughed. "Hey, Nick, your girlfriend and I are just scrap booking. Wanna help?"
"No, thank you," Nick said lengthening the sound of the 'o' in 'no.' "Hey, babe, how about a kiss?"
"Um, hold on, not right now. I'm busy," I said, trying to adjust a view pictures without getting glue on my hands.
"I was talking to Demi," he said, leaning over the couch, giving Demi a quick kiss on the cheek. "But you're all right too," and he gave me a similar kiss.
Demi said a few seconds later, "Now that Nick's here, why don't you two go hang out? I have loved the company, Selena, but I know what you came here for."
Nick grabbed my hand and took me upstairs to his room.
