Daimler Videocast: The lane assistant: How an innovative system saves lives.

The lane assistant is a passive assistance system for commercial vehicles. A camera records the distance between the vehicle and the lane marking. The system triggers an alarm when the vehicle threatens to leave the lane. The successor system is currently in development. This provides the driver with a compensation impulse via the steering wheel. The feature illustrates how both systems function and how a braking intervention can be integrated as a safety reaction.
