I do have to say I like Freema Agyeman and Martha Jones, the only downside to her chracter was her pineing over The Doctor, it just came off as winey half of the time, in Torchwood and series 4 of Who and soem moments in series 3 she really shined through, so to all those saying they hate Martha Jones, she is not a terrible companion, just at times subject to some bad writing

@msjennhill Amen to that. I didn't like that the writers deliberately focused on her cattiness about the Doctor's Post-Rose intimacy issues. 'Cause we have this totally boss med student running around either saving the world on her own or saving/supporting the Doctor (CPR on the moon, her stint as "John Smith's" maid, Blink). I felt like she was the only one of Ten's companions who had both compassion AND competence.

I really wish she would come back!

um, my fangirl-y heart just completely melted at Jack/Martha. i wanted this to happen back in Sound of Drums!

I wish she was able to return in Season 3 (Children of Earth) but oh well. We don't always get what we want.

While Martha's unrequited love got old through S3, she's still the most badass companion. She had the most adult situations to deal with - racism, the year that never was, watching her family nearly die... all other companions had the Doctor there to hold their hands while she was often fighting the Doctor while he crapped on her. And she had the strength to walk away. Marth is a BAMF.

@AmaWalkieTalkie I'm glad that someone else loves Martha! I love Rose. I don't have a problem with her at all, but I don't like how everyone took the Doctor's side and were just all okay with how cruel he was towards Martha. I'm glad that she was a strong enough character to overcome her suffering though. She is an amazing character and I feel bad for the people that didn't understand her story or character because they are missing out. I really love and adore Martha!

@FunnyMult123 I wish they would have kissed in the Sound of Drums at that point. It would have been so amazing! I wish the Master, Martha, Lucy, Jack, and the Doctor all got to be in more episodes together! They could have done so much more with that story.

I had a feeling that Jack wanted to kiss Martha in sound of the drums when he was giving her his vortex manipulator. so wished it would happen. sort of think he was longing for a kiss from her.
Love to see the grown-up Torchwood writers tackle Martha traveling the ruin earth in the year that wasn't; random mass murders, humans and animals (no one to keep the zoos) scrambling for food and a safe place to live, no one to keep the prisons so psychopaths loose-- Martha having to trust strangers to tell her story, she did a stint in the work camps according to the novel-- good Sci-fi stuff; mmmm maybe an American sci-fi writer (the guys on Battlestar) should handle it.

Gosh, I'd take a whole series of Martha during TYTNW... I've only heard the audiobook, but yeah, it was all so hardcore and illuminating. No idea about writers (although whathisface who wrote her blog and a Tw ep would be good), but the whole concept of her year is something that can never be looked at enough...

I mean I think Jack started to fancy Martha before Reset; during the Sound of Drums.

I think he's always had a thing for her, actually, and it's just got deeper as time goes on.
