you've obviously never watched Batman the Animated Series if you think this is the best of the animated shows

technicaly the final episode to this show was in JLU. it was called "epilogue"

People always had a issue with how different Terry is from Bruce, but that was kinda the point. If Terry was just as smart and strongwilled as Bruce, then that concludes anyone can be Batman and it's simply a man in a costume.

Batman beyond is canon in the DC animated Universe, which is an alternate universe in the comics. The main DC comic universe has no terry..instead has Damien Wayne as the son of batman.

I agree with you.
A younger version of an existing character does not always work.
The story is not equivalent to a previously written story.
For example,How can such a young Tony Stark have an armor suite wich he can only developed later ?
Batman Beyond is a GREAT example how the next cartoon shows must or can be
(the new Spider-man cartoon is also great to watch)
I love this show and i copied all the episode that came out on cable T.V on VIDEO cassette and later to D.V.D.
