Now that after episode 4 I've unlocked more levels, I'm sure I'll be doing a variety of stars/levels.

Also, I advise not trying too hard to collect the stars in order-- for me at least, it's more fun to go to a different level every so often, especially if I've been dying a lot on a particular level (this hack does get pretty difficult compared to the original, though I don't think it's as insane as SM74).

I understand skipping a star when you're going for red coins or 100 coins, though. (Thanks for revealing the trick to that Chain Chomp star by the way.)

Personally, I explore the level first, collecting any coins I encounter on the way (and also testing out the blue switch if there is one-- the hacks' blue switches tend to have pretty restrictive time limits in my experience, so it may take multiple tries anyway).

If I happen to get the 100 coin star or the red coin star in the process, good (if I get both, I collect the red coin star to end the level), if not, at least I've explored the level.

Also that clipping glitch happened to me as well.

(2:55) I've seen goombas die to water in the original. I think that can happen in Tall Tall Mountain and Tiny Huge Island.
