Grumpy Jii-san's been watching cartoons for way too long. After watching a recent film, he's going to chat about it.

This time, the narration is shot northwest of Arizona's Bunyan Peak.

You can find a transcript of these remarks here:

  • Great review. Are you open to suggestions at what to review next?

  • I'm open to suggestions. (though no promises.) "Next" is problematic, since I'm pretty sure that'll be something I've already started on.

  • Well, the movie certainly looks nice....and, honestly, it at least sounds more interesting than the last 'Pinocchio' rehash we got (anyone remember 'A.I.'?)

As for palm trees, heck, I've got 'em up the wazoo back home. Granted, I live in the mountains in Puerto Rico, but the things are everywhere.

  • I see you love anime, my friend, have you heard of fist of the north star.

  • And if you're willing to leave the deserted area Silverton (again near Mesa Verde) offers a lot of neat mining sites that you can go up to. There's countless trails in the surrounding area, but with a basic hiking map you can find some scenic hikes.

Kennebic Valley also is a great hike, again it's mainly a mining area but there are waterfalls as well.

I'm sure there are a lot of areas I'm forgetting to mention, but there are a lot of great guide books available and you can always ask locals.

  • I highly recommend Sand Canyon, it's relatively close to Mesa Verde and there are some excellent Indian ruins that are nearly completely intact. There are well maintained trails, but you can go off down several canyons and go much further than you could on the main trail which is basically a loop.

And it's a bit more of a drive, but in Utah there are also similar areas hat have excellent intact sites. Namely right outside of Bluff. Arches National Park is also nearby.

  • Oh I have a question too. Do you go into a nearby town and use an internet hot spot to upload your videos? Or do you go home each time? Do you go home each time to get more anime sent to you?

I've been to a few places that you've previously been to, I forget which ones though. I always hike the four corners area because it's close to home and offers a lot of interesting areas to hike.

  • Huh I'll definitely check this out. Your reviews always help me get a feel for a series, and this seems interesting. I've learned about a lot of great series that I wouldn't have otherwise known about from your reviews, thanks for them.

I really like the art style of this too.

Looking forward to your next rev.

  • Great review.

  • Could I suggest you watch King of Braves: GaoGaiGar? It's a 50 episode super robot anime with great action for a monster-of-the-week fell to it at first, but gets great near the midpoint and gets great near the end. It's not too expensive and come in two sets of nixe looking DVD cases. Forgive me if I suggested this before.

  • Palm tree FTX XD
