Richard Beales and Matt Ruiss made the first historic Tweets from the Commodore VIC-20 on February 20, 2010 at the Personal Computer Museum in Brantford. Using software called TweetVER developed by Syd Bolton, curator at the museum, Beales and Ruiss were able to connect the land of the old with a flavor of the new. In the end, the VIC-20 not only sent out two tweets but also received status updates included a retweet of itself! History was made. Opening music by PEELER.

I have repaired at least three Vic 20's in the past nine months. A very simple computer to fix as long as you have the parts. I have a fourth Vic waiting for a VIC I chip and a fuse.

Very cool. The VIC-20 was my first computer as a kid... I still have it around somewhere!

This is awesome! I can't wait to see TweetVER ported to some of my own vintage hardware. We have AmiTwitter for the Commodore Amiga already too!
