Many teachers and principals across BC disagree with the BCTFs claim that the Foundation Skills Assessment (FSA) is bad for kids. We break down nine myths about the FSA and show why opponents of the test are exaggerating the issue.
"That doesn't mean there is not time for other things..." Then WHY are PE, Music and Art classes being cut in favour of more reading and Math instruction? The problem with the test is teachers just teaching for the test.
thank goodness someone else has a view other than the Teachers Union.
I am a mother of 3 children in the public school system, I am thankful that the Ministry has a tool for assessing the Public Education it delivers.
2 of my son's took the FSA, they didn't care, they knew it didn't effect their grade but knew it was important to try their best. I don't buy the paper after the FSA results, I believe it should be left in the Ministry's care.
