Rachel arrives in New York City to see Mac, who is there on a business trip, after they've had yet another fight about Mitch. Rachel tells Mac that she went to see Mitch because she was looking for Matthew, only Matthew wasn't there, but she stayed and talked to Mitch. Mac asks what Mitch had to say. Rachel says that Mitch cares about a lot about her, and Mac ought to be fairer about Mitch. They start arguing again as Mac says he thinks he's been very fair, and Rachel asks if Mac wants to hear what Mitch had to say or not. "Yes!" Mac shouts. So Rachel tells Mac what Mitch had to say: that Rachel knew what she wanted and she should follow her heart no matter who got hurt.
"Mitch Blake said THAT?" Mac asks incredulously. Rachel replies that yes, he did, so she got on the very next plane and flew to New York and she didn't even stop at the house. She doesn't even have a toothbrush. She just wanted to get there and be with Mac. Mac wonders why Mitch had to be the one to make Rachel see that.
"He didn't, Mac!" Rachel exclaims. "He just told me to go on fighting. I've always known that. You just weren't listening to me!"
"I've tried to be very reasonable," Mac replies.
"You've been a jerk!" Rachel retorts.
"That's the second time today somebody's called me that!" Mac exclaims.
"I love you, you jerk, and I'm not gonna let anybody or anything take you away from me!" Rachel exclaims right back. They're both silent for a moment, and then Rachel asks, "Well, aren't you gonna say anything?"
"I was just thinking of all the time we have spent fighting and making up, and fighting and making up," Mac says.
"Well, is this the making up part?" Rachel asks.
"It would be if you weren't so far away," Mac replies.
"Well, all right," Rachel says.
She and Mac rush into each other's arms then, with Rachel saying how much she misses Mac, and Mac saying how much he loves Rachel, and Rachel saying how much she loves Mac. They kiss, and then Rachel asks where they go from here. Mac wants to take her to Central Park. She asks if they can go later. They start kissing again, and Mac says he didn't mean they'd go right this minute. Rachel says that she really should go shopping because she doesn't have anything. Mac replies that she has everything he needs right with her. Thanks to Eddie for the scenes.
the acting between Mac and Rachel is the best that any soap opera could offer.
They made it look so easy
