Why does Jim, THE JIM, look like a hobo? Am I not buying enough of his books?

He was in his LARP costume. He did this by taking an hour away from his gaming, THAT is how much he loves his readers and fans. :)

Does anyone else think Susan Cooper's The Dark Is Rising sequence could be the first urban fantasy? It's from 1965! I felt the whole point of those books was that these adventures happened to the kids in the real world especially The Grey King

Vampires are not scary? Have start reading those Vampire: World of Darkness novels.. Its shame WhiteWolf hasnt had sense to use their Vampire/World of Darkness better. Its IS the best urban fantasy world i can think of any way.

Jim Butcher was kind of a lead balloon, did not contribute unless provoked to. Diana Rowlands and Emma Bull were charming and funny. Invite Diana and Emma back where possible, leave Jim in his cabin in the woods.

I'm pretty sure he skipped over it purposely, so as not to turn off certain fans and so that he can get to the other points in the story.
