Solar-powered cooking

Street vendors in Mexico have started to cook tacos using solar power.

Lorena Harp from Alfredo Harp Helu Organization saying: "It is very interesting and satisfactory to see how they (the people at the community) can benefit from this at all levels: economic, environmental, even in their health of course, because they are producing less smoke, they are breathing less carbon dioxide; they are saving money, they are saving time by not bringing wood, they used to invest many hours in doing this, now they can save wood, time and money with this type of technology."

Tacos stall owner Alfredo Garcia Martinez saying: "Without the solar equipment we spend approximately 400 grams of gas and with the equipment about 200, a little bit more than 200 grams."
