Why is it that Antonio Banderas, Penolope Cruz who are Spanish get mistaken
for Latino & play Latino parts? Why is it that Tiziano Ferro & Laura pausini who are Italian can cross over so easily& sing in Spanish? Why because Latino has a typical look! I read where Lala Vasquez who doesn't even say here name correctly was stating that she would not be consider for the typical Latina parts. Well their is a reason for that she is not a typical Latina Zoe Saldana made the same statement. It is crazy

I mean you got people in the Latin American countries trying to break free from their chains and establish their identity. Like Censo Afrocolombiano and Afro Brazilian, and Afro Cuban Afro Mexican & you got Dominicans & Puerto Ricans claiming they are just Latinos & not black. You got places like Palenque in Columbia & places in Brazil trying to display their proud heritage while Dominicans & Puertoricans try to cover it up. Equality doesn't begin until you know who you discover who you are.

You got 3 Afro Descendentes 1 Mulatto(Spanish & Black) & 1 Mestizo(Spanish/Indigenous) MesoAmer indian or Native American talking about being Latino instead of focusing on Poverty & injustice in Latin America. Instead trying to fit in help the people who are suffering in Latin America by highlighting their stories & struggles.

I think Afro Latinos are being ignored because they have not been highlighted them enough. The main problem is people are confused of what a Latino is & until it is clear they won't be represented & their voices won't count. It is important that this is clarified. I have added some information below to help clarify this matter.

Latin is a Lenguage that originated in Europe Italy to be precise. This is why Latinos have European traits & share similar genetic features. I guess to put it simple a Latino/Latina could go to Spain, Portugal or Italy and be mistaken for a citizen due similar features. Example Sofia Vergara She could go to Italy, Spain or Portugal and blend in quite easy.

Now if Sammy Sosa or David Ortiz went they would think he is African even Rosario Dawson or Zoe Saldana would be classified as African in those countries no one would consider these people as people who originated from these countries our even Latino or Latinas so it is pointless to be consider a Latino/Latina.

Why waste all the time convincing people you are Latino/Latina when their are more important issues that need to be addressed. Like Poverty & racial hatred towards Haitians & also African Americans in east coast communities.
He mentions the co captain on the Santa Maria was black which they called El Negro but what he forgets to mention is when he went back to Spain he was accused of cheating the king out of his spoils and arrested & died before his trial concluded. Most likely killed in prison. His name was Pedro Alonso Nino. 2 more points I have if relations were so great why were they brought to the new world as slaves? The truth is relations were not as good as this guy put it. I have another interesting topic

@sportsmarvel Thanks for your comment. But Pedro 'El Negro' Alonso was not the only one who faced jail after their "European discovery of America", Columbus himself met the same destiny. On slavery, then like today, fellow Africans were complicit in the human trafficking. Lamentably in many instances its the same race that sells their own, often within families.
