  • When it's your first army, I think you should chose by the looks/feelings you have of it, so that you like the army from the start.

Don't think so much about the power (as long as you're not very besotted with winning) but what you think suits you best, eg which background you're interested in.

I started with the dark elves some weeks ago cause I like their society and the way they're presented in WH and I love it :)

  • That guy is a bit like a cool asshole.

That charismatic douche-bag that you know you should hate, but instead you do whatever he says.

  • @Nuclearmouse you mean your average GW store employee? :D hehehe

  • How exactly do I paint the bones and in what order?

  • I would love to get back into this game again...

but the players i played were a bit to competitive for me to enjoy myself...

  • Sounds like a very cheap advertisement for GW paints.

Devlan Mud is a bad choice for this project because its too expensive.

I would rather use Army Painter or Vallejo Washes.

  • What ever happened to Tim?

  • I am trying skull white with devlin mud then adding a dry brush of bleached bone. This really doesnt seem to be looking that great on bone compared to starting with a bleached bone base coat and using devlin mud then highlighting with skull white. The problem is that while I have some figures based in bleached bone it turns out they don't make that spray anymore so it looks like I may have to get an airbrush.

  • I've done exacly as he said, bought battalion, some heroes, same paints...

Man I paint 10 models per day and I think mine look sightly better than his(no offence dude ;p).

I totally recommend such deal( I know it sounds like creepy advertisment but its true!)

but there's one problem, to paint such an army(2 battalions) you gonna need at least 3 devlan muds ;d

  • I think I may get back into this.

I tried 40k but I like the look and feel of this more.

But with all the school work n stuff I dunno when I'll be able to paint them D:

  • Its nice to see people using white undercoat. It really helps bring out the colors, and combined with the new washes it makes painting very fast and easy like you said.
