Can u tell me how big is your gym by feets please?

@mrsillyman I figure you knew what a squat rack is. I was just distributing my typical youtube venom. :)
I understand what you're dealing with. I've got an injury myself (though not as debilitating, it's still limiting) in my shoulder, which is recurring and will never go away due to it being a bone issue... so I also have to be very careful with what I do.
Makes sense that you're avoiding exercises that could set you back horribly. Too many people aren't smart enough to realize a limitation.

@xenonnati power racks you said...?
well ima go ahead and buy one and yep i know that they are pricey
but ive been saving up and i think is about time to buy it...and haha
its funny you say that i always check that scooby guys' videos he has great advice and information...oh and thanxs for your info as well bro!

but those power racks tend to be a bit pricey.. 250-300$ even.. i chose to build my own out of a few meters of rectangular pipe, it cost me about 15-20$ in total
but even without a power rack you can have a great workout, as i said those exercises i posted can be done with a pair of dumbbells, a barbell and a pullup bar
and since you have a bench your all set :)
Check out Scooby1961 's channel (and site)
he shows that you can have great workouts with very basic equipment :)

i was referring to a pullup bar :P
theres a difference between pullups and pulldowns just like theres a difference between pushups and benchpress
yes the cage is called a power rack, its a very useful piece of equipment to have if you do heavy BB(barbell) squats, and BB bench presses
since it has safety bars that catch the weight if they where to drop, so you can give it all you got without any fear of getting crushed ;)
some of them even have built in pullup bars.
you could use a power rack... it would save a lot of room

I have a back injury that allows me to squat moderately heavy weights (feels great afterward) but I am afriad of loosing my balance with a power rack. This morning I was standing on 1 foot putting my pants off and my airborne foot caught on the pants causing me to do that dance that people do when this happens. That shock to my lower back was torture... hard to believe I can squat 200lbs without too much trouble but this light weight shock hurts like crazy...

@mrsillyman You do realize a power rack is designed to help you when you lose balance?

@ThePaulWog Thanks... yes... i am sure it would be better than a squat off of a squat rack... but that 1'-2' of "falling" that would take place before the barbell hits the power rack stops is enough for me to try to catch myself... and jar my back suddenly... and maybe suffer a setback. Before I had to walk with a cane for 2 days (and I am a healthy fit male in mid 30s), I didn't realize how quickly I could get a back injury... and now I try to be as careful as I can. thanks for you comments.

well.... u are observant. yes, I would like to have another 3" of clearance... but I will have to live within the parameters of the existing room.
