  • How did the creators of MSTS fuck up on the horn for the Acela Express so badly? It's not even a FRACTION of being close to the real horns!

  • I know tell me about it! Probably because this came out at the same time the acela did, so when they were creating it they didnt have a good recording. But still, i have no idea where they got the default horn from

  • I love how the horn here is a K5LA, but in MSTS they make it some gay horn hahaha

  • Is it possible to couple two Acelas together?

  • @LNERMallard They made the same problem with Railworks 2012. :c

  • @juasha yes, it is, although it is very difficult to couple individual CARS together, the power cars still have standard couplers for towing and switching on the outside ends, although seldom, if ever, seen, two or more trainsets can be coupled together to form a longer consist, that being easier than just coupling twice the cars to each other and still have two power cars, eg. a longer single trainset

  • @alx2925 or they didn't get the copyrights

  • Anyone wanna see my amazing horn?

  • @alx2925 Maybe the recorders had the engineer feather the horn so they wouldn't distort the sound...Just a theory...

  • @WetDirtProductions remember its all about copyright laws. Im guessing Amtrak didn't give MSTS the right to use the Acela's horn. But that is just a guess

  • @6V92TA Also, K5LA are basically Low manifold K5Hs that have the "American" tune, hints the more direct, louder, high pitched sound. K5Ls are basically K5Hs on a low profile "LA" manifold.

  • @RDG484 um...no. the K5HL is basically a K5H, which the H stands for "High Profile Manifold". The K5L means is the standard K5 in "Low Profile Manifold", which Amtrak first started using. the H and L has nothin to do wit the tuning. All Amtrak locomotives that feature K5s have the K5LA and K5L. The K5H was only for Canada until the K5LA came out. K5Hs can be heard still on CSX, Norfolk Southern, UP and SP locomotives, who used them on their older Dash 8s in the 80s.
