  • Another "great driver" that hits the red line while the engine is totally cold.

  • Your mad

  • Red line on a Desiel is based on EGTs though not what you can wind the motor out to.

At red line on a Desiel can mean a melted pistion.

  • That's normal! I know one TI and one TII that makes 6000rpm... ;)

  • it had been doing that for a long time, months even. you change gear it shaked untill it past 2k, the worst thing is its only a 54 plate & there all hired cars. they all are in a sad state. mind the person is a bit of a racer put it this way thank god for seatbelts

  • i over looked your comment you say it ws dieing how long alltogether had the engine been running if im reading your ? right it sounds like he cooked the moter [to hot] which is really bad

  • if you never herd it go bang it should be allright most cases where you red line or do burn outs is that the engine temp gets hot and some times blows a hose water expands when hot causing this i think in one of my vids there is a f250 and nissan patrol doing donuts in the mud you can hear the engine bouncing on the patrol and was bouncing for at least a minute before i got the camera out

  • one of the members of staff at my sixth form held the throttle down full on a seat alhambera 1.9 tdi & then did a burnout, the engine was already dieing under 2k has he dammaged it? you could hear it bouncing if you listened carefully

  • ps you can red line any engine it all depends on how long. bearing in mind diesel engines are stronger and when you do see red line thats only what the manufactures recomend [limits] which is no where near of what the engine can realy do

  • not really i have the same car with a 2.7 td the reason i bought a diesel cos ive been diesel meckanic for a few years .i used to get about 5k on revs and loss of power so i checked the throttle cable it must of sretched due to age as is wasnt hitting the stopper on the fuel pump i now get full revs and noticed a big diff in driving since the feul rack is opening to where its ment to be allowing the fuel to flow.yes diesel engine are not for high reving but still no throttle no power
