London Printworks Trust presented Departure: further explorations in print, an interactive exhibition that forms part of 2007 London Design Festival. The show explored a diverse range of approaches to print practice from Gunilla Klingberg's kaleidoscopic digital animation featuring logotypes from a shop near you, to Sebastian White's interactive invisible ink wallpapers. Audiences were able to explore Fiona Zobole's large-scale sensory text prints, and debate the merits of cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery with Rhian Solomon.
Tuesday 18 September at 7pm: Big Seb White's Paint-In. Audiences took part in creating the massive magic colouring wall made especially for the opening night out.
Sebastian White showed a series of printed wallpapers that when painted with water, brings out another colour -- think of children's magic colouring books and you won't be far wrong. Sebastian's twin tree print will cover a wall of the gallery and exhibition visitors made their own marks by using the paint brushes supplied and painting their own section. The final wall at the end of the exhibition was radically changed from the original.
