Frank Buckles Americas Last WWI veteran visits the abandoned and decaying DC war memorial on the National Mall. CNN's Paul Coursons video reveals horrible condition and lack of honor on the Mall. Mr. Buckles desires to see the monument repaired and expanded with statues to serve as an honoring memorial to all World War One veterans as the National World War One Memorial.

  • RIP Mr. Buckles... hopefully a National WWI memorial will be realized.

  • @sparky3663 glad for you, that is one great uncle !!!

  • It is wonderful to see the respect he is afforded.

  • @Corridoamor only three in the world remain

  • but can't you imagine the things this man saw as an ambulance driver.

  • he was an ambulance driver.. harry patch was the last tommy in the trenches

  • @BigMrFirebird :Whatever the answer, this just broke my heart. We should be maintaining it as long as there is one left!

  • soooooo much respect for this true soldier

  • If this memorial to WW I has been neglected or overlooked, does this mean that in one or two generations' time the same will start happening to the WWII memorials?
