@DebraMabe1 that fish got jumbed! they took his scales just like they take your milk money or your new shoes. and what happened when the fish had no more scales?! they no longer paid attention to it.

I think in a way it's saying you have to give up your unique identity in order to be accepted by society, in another way it's saying that it's good to share and be kind to others. I don't really care what the book is about or what it's promoting, I like it anyway. It brings back a lot of good memories as a kid. I used to love looking at the fishes glittery scales all day long.
