Laugh Clown Laugh performed by the Savoy Havana band, under the name of the "Original Havana Band" after the contract ended with the Savoy Hotel in 1927. The vocals are by Cyril Ramon Newton. This was recorded for the Broadcast label.

  • @genia106 Thanks Genia!!!!

  • This is lovely and very beautiful song! Is it a waltz? I wish I could go back in time and see those ballroom dances at the Savoy as well as great music. Thank you so much Daniel for bringing back Savoy bands for all of us! I'm simply not born in the right era.

  • @Drewfan30s I just checked the record, yes this is a waltz. Its a broadcast record. These are a weird records because they are the size of a 45. I never new they had perfected smaller records so early.

  • Very Pretty

  • @Fost0989 As the photo, especially, is of some interest to me, may I assume it was taken at the same time as the recording of this song?

  • INCREDIBLE THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!!!!!!!!!

  • This was a very popular tune around 1928. There was also a picture out at the same time called "Laugh Clown Laugh". I wonder if this was its theme song? The restored print shown on TCM cable has lost its sound discs and a new meaningless score written, so I cant tell. I'd love to see this song added back to it's score in any case. May be a part of cinema history like "Ramona." Thanks

  • @Masquerade03 ,very few.

  • @Bigband78 Bob, do not you like waltzes?

  • Sounds like a waltz,but still good
