You are not bound to crash if you start with a 600 cc bike, i started with a 1200 Harley nightster, it was my first bike, never had any accident of any kind....just take it easy, get to know your bike....

I'm about 5'7 and I can reach the payment but not comfortably, I have to almost tip toe at a stop. So you would probably fit fine on it.

I would have to disagree, I've had 2 R6's and I've loved both and would probably not buy different bike. It handles great in my opinion and has alot of kick when you need it! Love the R6
