Helen Mirren / Prime Suspect / Cagney & Lacey Theme

Cagney & Lacey was the first realistic female cop show in the U.S. It ran from 1982-1988 and stared Tyne Daly and Sharon Gless. The original show opening is at:

Prime Suspect was a British detective show starring Helen Mirren. It was a collection of short miniseries that started in the early 90's and ended in 2006.

I remember this show being my first Helen Mirren-watching-experience. It was aired in Germany many, many years ago. And I was impressed by the charisma of this actress. Thank you much for bringing this memory back to my mind! Awesome video with awesome cuts!

NBC now has "Prime Suspect" here in the States. Maria Bello plays the lead role as an NYPD cop who uses her moxie(like Tennyson here) to get the bad guy.
