This video shows the screen rotation on a Nokia N800. We have here an Enlightenment running on Mamona distro where each navigation button is associated with an xrandr command, e.g. LEFT: xrandr -o left.
It was necessary to implement the xrandr support to xomap kdrive (1.3.99) and the LCD controller rotation support on linux-omap kernel.
The linux-omap patch was already accept and applied to linux omap git tree.

  • click the directional pad. thats it. watch him closely....

  • ? it has an accelerometer? ive had it for years and i havent known that

  • How about "auto screen rotation with g-sensor" ?

  • xrandr is a Linux command that handles..well pretty much everything that has to do with a screen in Linux (dual screen, whether to display the screen vertically, horizontally, etc..). It can change resolutions like "xrandr 1024 768". What he did was bind xrandr commands to the keys on the n800. However, this isn't like the iPhone which has a sensor that detects when it's turned.

  • please tell me how you did this I have one on order right now

  • wow!! how did you do that. they said the n800 wasn't cable of doing the potrait screen thing like the iphone...please respond promptly because I've got to see more of this
