Abortion vs Poverty

In 2005 the estimates were 13 million children living in poverty in the US. Clinton was beating poverty but when Bush was elected he virtually destroyed any gains and sent the country into a depression. The 2009 figures are worse.

80% of the priests reported for sexual abuse of minors were located in the United States.(4,392 priests, as Church's estimate that no more than 5,000 priests worldwide but then the church lies about everything, 11,000 allegations were made against them in the US alone ) The facts are allegations of clergy sexual abuse have surfaced in several countries around the world but there have been no comprehensive studies so we have no idea of the scope of catholic child abuse worldwide .

I once visited a woman in an official capacity. She had three very young children she was yelling at. She was on the phone arguing with the childrens father asking for support. She told me that she was pregnant, but wanted to get an abortion. I could not tell her to keep the unborn. It was her decision about the quality of life for the ones already there. The same people who complain about government, want to the same to control people's body functions and support big killer war machines.

The choice of life is a woman's . It is her right solely because it is her life that will be sacrificed for it. I don't care how much men have to pay, that is for the courts to decide.

@the5thCount we actually have laws allowing for abortion, in case you managed to allow yourself to forget this. saying 'there are laws' is as irresponsible as getting a woman pregnant, telling her she cannot abort, then offering no personal and financial support in the raising of the child. happens daily. your argument is bunk.

@fjordprefectix yes, a cover-up. and your use of the word amazing is far from realistic. the church uses probably less than ten percent of their money to help the poor. that means they tithe less than the folks who tithe to them. they waste bazillions on procurement, ownership, and upkeep of land and buildings. across the board, wealthy take from the working class, then donate small bits back to make themselves feel better and confuse those watching to believing they care.

@darliegoddess this is the crux of it. just as society didn't allow you to grow up being who you knew you were, also society abandons mothers with hungry children. there should never be a law telling women what to do concerning this, but the need/desire to abort a pregnancy would soon nearly disappear if women knew society would support them in their efforts of raising kids up right. it takes a village. and of course the village is in a shambles.
