Hey everybody, I'm Lindsay Dreyer from Wetpaint Entertainment. Ladies (and gentlemen): are you tired of going on lousy dates with all the wrong guys? — y'know, the guy who ends up having two other ladies on the side; the guy who ends up having terrifying road rage; or the guy who you learn, five dates in, pulls out his own eyelashes? Yikes! Well if you're as sick of the polluted dating pool as we are, then you're in for a treat! We've compiled a list of TV's most datable men, based on their type. We've got The Hunk, The Doctor, The Good Guy, and The Artist. And OK, it may never be real-life L-O-V-E — but it sure doesn't hurt looking, right?
If its brawn — and not brains — that do it for you, then you're probably looking for The Hunk — in which case you shouldn't look any further than True Blood's werewolf with a heart of gold, Alcide Herveaux. Played by the impeccably well-made Joe Manganiello, Alcide definitely isn't without his fair share of baggage. First, there's his V-addicted, semi-psychotic fang-banger ex, Debbie, who seems hell-bent on ruining any chance of future happiness for our hunky hero. Second, the guy's a friggin' werewolf! But trust us, you'll get over it because after looking at that 12-pack (his living proof that there is such a thing). Yeah, we'd so let him take us on a date or two, even if it was a full moon.
OK, if howling and flea-scratching are a total no-go for you, kindly allow us to offer up somebody completely different: The Good Doctor, Grey's Anatomy's Derek Shepherd, also known to legions of die-hard fans as the McDreamiest man on television. So why all the fanfare for Derek? Um, hello, have you even seen what the guy looks like? The dark hair; those sea-blue eyes; that perma-five o'clock shadow — not to mention his devilish charm? All we can say is: RAWR. And sure, McDreamy isn't without his faults: Recently, he's kinda gone off the PTSD deep end which isn't so hot — oh, and we're totally on Team Meredith in regards to last season's big heartbreak finale. Even still, I'm sure we'd all put up with a little pouting and crazy behavior if it meant getting to play doctor with Derek Shepherd — am I right or am I right?
But if McDreamy's good looks are too intimidating for you, maybe you should try your luck with one of TV's more understated fellas. For our pick for TV's "Good Guy", we decided to take a huge leap and nab somebody way off the A-List radar. Bones fans will be head-over-heels over our pick: we think Wendell Bray would make one helluva great boyfriend. Now, you non-Bones fans are probably scratching your head thinking, "Um, who?" (to which we say, shame on you for not watching this gem of a show!) — and that's because Wendell, played by sandy-haired Michael Grant Terry, isn't even one of the main characters. He's just a humble, eager-to-please lab assistant who, despite his impoverished past, continues to pull himself up by the bootstraps with charm — and the most nervous, adorable smile you've ever seen.
And lastly, if you're in the mood for somebody a little bit darker, then why don't you try your luck with The Artist: Gossip Girl's own Dan Humphrey. Dan's always been the grounded voice of reason in an otherwise glama-rama world of OTT excess — which is a rare and sexy quality in a mate, in my humble opinion. And whether or not this aspiring writer makes a huge splash on the literary scene or not (and we're so excited to find out next season, btw!), we're pretty sure that this Brooklyn boy, played by the way cute Penn Badgley, is level-headed enough to be an uber-datable, always dependable boyfriend.
