I admit some coastal areas have been so prosperous and progressive and the people living standard been improved a lot compared with what they were before. But, if you go further towards "inlands",you would be so "mesmerized" by what the real China is. What about the human rights and the peole dignity? The ordinary people pride have been ruined completely by the brutal communist regime. No objection voice or whatsoever other than regime's one sided slogan. Is it what you're so proud of??

@ patkoay1, I am sure that I did not get my message across to you. The "nouveau niche" mainlanders proved "we were wrong" about saying China was not good as HongKong way back in 1997. To justify it is 100% correct, you've cited some good examples to show the rich Chinese bastards worry nothing about how much the good stuff cost because "money is no object".Do they represent the entire 1.3 billion people or they merely make up a very small portion but the majority still live under the poor level?

Hongkongers at that time thought they were more prosperous, more modern, have more freedom. The mainlanders proved them wrong. Many enterprising mainlanders became so rich that even the rich Hongkongers are envious of the free spending lifestyle of the newly rich bastards. Just you drool on when you see how the mainlanders lavish themselves on parties and showoff when they shop or dine .

15 years ago, the people of HK worried about their capitalist living styles would be dominated by communist government after its handover to Chinese rule. My question, why after such a long time under the beloved "motherland's reins", the Hongkongers still refuse to consider themselves as the "Chinese citizen" but "HK citizen" instead?
